How do I apply for admission?

Temple College has an Open Door Admission Policy. Anyone interested in attending Temple College is welcome. Even adults who haven't finished high school frequently qualify for special admission. International students must also complete an International Student Admission packet in addition to the Application for Admission. See the catalog for more details regarding the methods of admission.

What are the testing requirements for admission?
All students who are seeking a degree, Level-2 Certificate, or Enhanced Skills Certificate are required to take an assessment test prior to enrolling in any college level courses. Some students may be exempt from testing requirements. Proof of exemption or waiver is required prior to registration. See below for more information.

Possible Exemptions or Waivers:
  • Students with high ACT, SAT, TAKS or TAAS scores (copy of scores on official high school transcript or official score report is required) may be exempt. Check with the Testing Center for score requirements.
  • Level-1 Certificate-seeking students are waived. Student must be accepted into the program.
  • Students who have graduated with an associate degree or a baccalaureate degree are exempt.
  • Students who transfer from a private or out-of-state institution of higher education and have satisfactorily completed nine hours of college-level coursework with a cumulative 2.0 GPA are exempt.
  • Students who are serving on active duty/retired as a member of the armed forces of the United States, the Texas National Guard, or as a member of a reserve component of the armed forces of the United States and have been serving for at least three years preceding enrollment are exempt.
  • Students who were discharged, retired, or released from active duty as a member of the armed forces of the United States, the Texas National Guard, or as a member of a reserve component of the armed forces of the United States on or after August 1, 1990 are exempt.

For a more efficient and faster registration, students are strongly encouraged to test at least two weeks prior to registration. Contact the Testing Center at (254) 298-8586 to get more information regarding exemptions and waivers.

What degree programs does Temple College offer?
Temple College offers one and two year Certificates of Completion, Enhanced Skills Certificates, and two-year Associate of Arts and Associate of Applied Science Degrees. Certificates and the Associate of Applied Science Degree are primarily intended for students who want to complete technical or Allied Health training at Temple College and then enter the workforce. The Associate of Arts Degree is primarily intended for students who want to complete their "Core Curriculum" requirements and then transfer to a senior college or university. What financial aid is available?
Financial aid is awarded in the form of scholarships, grants, loans, and jobs according to financial need, academic grades, and academic load. A studentís personal and family resources are considered in determining the studentís financial need. Financial assistance is intended to supplement (not replace) the studentís financial contribution toward meeting the costs of attending college. Awards are based on financial need, scholastic ability and/or other eligibility requirements.

What on-campus housing options are available at Temple College?
There are two on-campus housing options available for students at Temple College. University Courtyard Apartments provides on-campus student housing in a modern apartment style complex. Temple College Apartments are available for income qualified families with one or more members attending Temple College.

How do I request a transcript?
The Transcript Request Form is available in the Office of Admissions & Records in One College Centre or can be downloaded from the Admission/Records Web page. After completing and signing the form, the form may be mailed to Temple College, Office of Admissions & Records, 2600 South First Street, Temple, TX 76504, or faxed to (254) 298-8288.

There is no fee for transcripts issued by Temple College. Requests will be honored as quickly as possible in the order of receipt, usually three days processing time. During peak periods such as commencement and registration, transcripts should be requested at least two weeks in advance. If request is received during peak periods, the request will be processed as soon as time constraints allow.

How do I receive information about athletic programs and scholarships?
